Compressed timelines are common. A move prompted by a hospital stay, a memory diagnosis, or a community waitlist opening sooner than expected — those are the calls we are built to take.

Why Credentials Matter When You Hire a Senior Move Manager

Anyone can call themselves a senior move manager. Four things separate a NASMM company from the rest, and they are worth checking before you hire.

Insurance. Every NASMM company carries general business liability insurance. Insurance for senior move management is expensive and difficult to acquire — most non-NASMM companies do not have it.
Required training. NASMM companies must complete coursework in ethics, safety, liability, risk, and the moving industry. Working with older adults and the contents of their homes requires this kind of preparation.
A binding Code of Ethics. Every NASMM company signs and is required to abide by the NASMM Code of Ethics. Companies outside NASMM are not guided by any professional code.
Independent oversight. The NASMM Ethics Compliance Commission reviews any complaint against a NASMM member. If a client has a problem, there is an outside, impartial body to call.

When a parent is moving out of state, we handle the Atlanta end and hand the destination work to a NASMM-accredited Professional Move Manager in the receiving city. How quickly can you start a senior move?

For a health-event move on a compressed timeline, we can usually be at the home within a few days. The schedule depends on the size of the project, and we will tell you honestly on the first call.

Do you work with families who live out of state?

Yes. A meaningful share of our senior moves are coordinated with adult children who live elsewhere. We can be the local point of contact, send photos throughout, and handle decisions you cannot be there for.

What if my parent does not want to move?

We have managed many moves where the senior was reluctant. The first visit is a conversation, not a packing session. We move at the pace the family needs.

Do you also handle the sale of the current home?

We do not list homes ourselves. We do everything around the listing: staging, decluttering, helping you interview and select a realtor, arranging needed repairs, final clean-out, and preparation for the buyer’s walk-through. We also work with realtors across Atlanta who refer their senior clients to us.

Can you manage a move into a continuing care community?

Yes. We have packed dozens of moves into Atlanta-area CCRCs, including Peachtree Hills Place. We work with the community’s move-in coordinator to meet their schedule.

What logistics do you handle beyond packing and unpacking?

We coordinate utility transfers and disconnections, mail forwarding, and change of address with the post office, banks, credit cards, insurance, the IRS, medical providers, and pharmacies. We arrange donation pick-ups, shredding, and hauling, and we can scan photos and documents to reduce paper before the move.

How much does a senior move cost?

Every move is quoted after we see the home and the destination. Rates are hourly. We do not charge for the first consultation.
